The 15th ISB Footwear Biomechanics Symposium is approaching quickly. It will be the first virtual conference in the history of the Footwear Biomechanics Symposia. It will be held July 21-23, 2021, and be a satellite conference to the ISB conference the week after.
We would like to invite you to take part in this year’s conference!
Apart from the excellent science we are used to in the oral short presentations, we also present an additional exciting program. There will be three keynotes, one by Sebastian Coe (two times Olympic champion and President of World Athletics), one by Dr. Rasmus Ostergaard Nielssen (Footwear, sports injuries and causality), and one by Prof. Rana Hinman (Footwear to manage knee osteoarthritis). The Round Table discussion this year will cover the topic of performance enhancing shoes: what are they and do we want them? For the students, we will offer two time slots to discuss with researchers from the industry about perspectives and requirements to work in the industry. Finally, there will be two time slots for presentations and discussions about the latest possibilities in 3D kinematics by one of our conference sponsors. All oral presentations will be recorded and made available to those that cannot listen to the live presentation due to the different time zones. Besides the scientific program, we will provide many possibilities for personal interaction with colleagues and friends.
Registration for the Symposium has now opened on the conference website (https://fbs2021.footwearbiomechanics.org/). Due to the support of several sponsors, we were able to keep the conference fees low. Please note that early bird registration ends 31st of May.
After registering as a delegate, you will be contacted, and an individualized code to participate at the conference will be send to you by early July. The symposium platform will open a few days prior to its opening so you can familiarize yourself with the platform.
If you have any questions or problems, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We are looking forward to meet you at the 2021 Footwear Biomechanics Symposium!
